The In-House Team
Zac Camm
Engineer / Producer / Mixer / Studio Manager
Zac has been producing, engineering, and mixing records at The Aviary since 2012. With a background in music performance and a deep love for analogue warmth, he brings a collaborative, artist-first approach to every session. He's worked with a wide range of Melbourne and Australian artists across indie, folk, rock, electronic, and classical genres. As Studio Manager, Zac oversees the day-to-day operations and ensures every artist feels at home from the moment they walk through the door.
Stephen Mowat
Engineer / Producer / Mixer / Hub Manager
Stephen is a genre-crossing and ARIA-winning producer, writer and mixer who has been part of The Aviary family for nearly 5 years. His teenage experiments with DJing and electronic beat production led to early success in Australia's hip-hop scene, and his magpie-like curiosity for music shines through in his deft combinations of digital and analogue production. His credits include Pez's ARIA-nominated 'A Mind Of My Own' (featuring Festival Song at #7 in Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2008), Drapht's ARIA-winning 'The Life Of Riley', Bliss n Eso's platinum-selling albums, and Seth Sentry's 'This Was Tomorrow'. Now managing The Aviary Hub, Stephen brings an amazing level of studio professionalism and depth of experience to the team.
Fraser Montgomery
The Film Division / Engineer / Producer / Mixer
Fraser founded The Aviary Studios in 2012 with a vision of creating a space where artists could capture both their sound and their story. After focussing on engineering and producing records for 15 years, he is now immersed in connecting the visual world with the sonic. As head of The Film Division, he leads all film production — from intimate live studio sessions to large-scale concert and festival captures. With a passion for cinematic storytelling and live music, Fraser works closely with artists to create visuals that match the emotion and energy of their performances.
He still manages to make a few records along the way…
